Caltagirone (Sicilian : Caltaggiruni) is a town in the province of Catania, in central Sicily. The city’s name derives from the arabic “qal’at-al-ghiran” (“Hill of Vases”). It’s known in Italy as “The city of Sicilian ceramics” due to its thousand-year-old tradition.
